A note on Semipalmated Sandpiper mol...Great post. <br /><br />A note on Semipalmated Sandpiper molt: We're a little further south here in Mississippi, but still not close to the wintering grounds for Semis. We do see, however, pre-basic molt in body feathers progressing in Semis by early/mid August (e.g., from 11 Aug 2015: https://flic.kr/p/wZozH5). We don't see molt of flight feathers though.
